Mac OS X Server Developer Release Notes:
ObjectAlloc
The ObjectAlloc application displays object allocation and
deallocation activity in a Yellow Box application in real time. It is
located in /System/Developer/Applications (on Yellow Box for
Windows systems, substitute the value of NEXT_ROOT for
/System). The application contains some on-line help.
Notes Specific to Rhapsody Developer Release
Known Problems
The following problems have been found in ObjectAlloc:
- Due to a bug in a private framework, ObjectAlloc might crash
when the user presses the Start button or chooses the Start Task
menu command. The only recourse is to restart ObjectAlloc.
- The main window contains a radio matrix with items
"Histogram", "Instance", and "Temporal". The radio matrix can
become enabled, but selections other than "Histogram" have no
effect.
- The Report feature is incomplete but included in this release
because it is still useful. The "Histogram" and "From Display"
modes incorrectly display the histogram bars. The "Instance" and
"Temporal" choices in the pop-up menu have no effect. The
ASCII-only button also has no effect.
- Although there is no indication on Windows, on Rhapsody a
split view at the bottom of the main window shows the event
inspector.
